Holidays

I raced around the house, trying to get all my gears ready before my friend arrived. Too late, she screamed for me from the top of her lungs so that I could hurry up and get outside so we can leave.“Still getting ready” I yelled back at her. I continued rushing around the house but I was excited to be finally going to the festival in Glen Innes.

In the town centre of Glen Innes, where the festival had been held my friend and I went straight to meet up with our friends who we made plans with. The atmosphere was filled with enjoyment, seeing all the different variety's of things you could do like watch the performances being done from different types of groups, or go look around the different stores selling food, clothes and other accessories.

We were hungry as we decided to go Pack n Save to go buy a feed for us. Munching on the food we then went for a walk about. Seeing a lot of people who I hadn’t seen since school holidays started, I went up to them and said hello and had a little conversation.

Then we went to the town centre, and saw everybody who was bunched up together, waiting for the Cook Island Kids to start performing. They started doing their hula and while the beat of the drums was rushing through the people, the boys were doing there dance.

After that my friends and I went for another look around the area, seeing everybody enjoying them self’s as there was plenty of different activity’s to do.While we were walking we saw my friends family and ran straight to them and started to beg for some extra money. They gave us $10.00 for both of us to spend.

Coming back to the main stage, we saw J. Williams and K-One performing together. Excited my friends and I immediately ran to the area and tried to get as close as possible to them. The crowd was jumping with the rhythm of their music. During a break they ask the crowd to do a challenge for them, for the most creative people in the crowd to do something crazy and the most craziest stunt would win a prize. A few minutes later a kid won the prize, the prize was a Album from the J. Williams and K-One. He won it by jumping on his friends shoulders and was dancing with the music.

The night was over as J. Williams announced it was time to pack up and leave. My friend Kath and I got all of our other friends together and started walking home. Walking and talking we all didn’t realize we were near each others homes, saying our good bye’s we left and went home.

Tennis Recount

The day started off like any other normal day, a day with everybody enjoying them self’s completing off what they needed to and anything else.

Each term our school would learn about a different sport and this term we started learning about tennis. As we arrived at the courts our new tutor introduced himself as Marcel our new tennis tutor. He started it off by telling us all the basic rules.

Giving us a challenge to bounce the ball on both sides of the racket, but only holding the racket by your hips. That was too easy for everybody so trying to make it more difficult he decided that we had to also bounce the ball on the frames of the racket. “3,2,1” he blew the whistle for all of us to stop and start off with something new.

Trying to grab every body’s attention, he blew the whistle once more for our class to watch Andrew and Marcel demonstrate a Forearm hit. We crowded around them so we all could see, getting annoyed of all the waiting Andrew finally served the ball. Marcel Swung his arm and hit the ball with one stroke then going back and fourth til Andrew missed a hit.

Now knowing how to do a Forearm hit, we choose our partners and started practicing. Pairing up with Tina heading straight to the nets, I served the ball to her but she missed it. A few serves later she finally got it.

Finally we get into groups and show off all our new skills we have learnt from our session. King Of The Court was the game, a game where we get into a group of people and challenge each other until we see who would be the last one standing.

Favourite's Poem

I love holidays on Waiheke Island the scenery I can not get enough of.
Enjoying the sunsets and the beautiful colours in the sky.

I love eating tasty chicken and hot french fries.
Washing it all down with a nice refreshing juice.

I love Yellow - Nice and bright,
On days I feel like frowning, seeing yellow makes my day.

I love the sound of reggae music as I turn it up
I could feel the beat running through me.

I love hanging with my friend
She is awesome, and always there for me.

I love spending time with my family
Watching the big hits from the league games.

The Sunday Match Vodafone Warriors vs The South Sydney Rabbitoh's

The Sunday Match Vodafone Warriors vs The South Sydney Rabbitoh’s .

The Vodafone Warriors have there record fifth win in a row, marking their seventh win in eight games, outbashing the South Sydney Rabbitoh’s in a physical contest to win 12-6.

Both teams were fired up for the contest as the Warriors looking forward to win the game to continue their momentum into the bye round, while the Rabbitoh’s were eager to get their season back on track with a much-needed win to keep them in touch with the top eight

Victory for the Warrior’s means that they now sit in a comfortable position in 6th place before automatically collecting the 2 points for the bye round, which could see the Warrior’s lift as high as 2nd place on the table.

Despite the low-scoring final result, the contest could have easily been high-scoring affair, with the Vodafone Warriors being denied several times by the video ref.

As early as the fourth minute, centre Shaun Berrigan looked to have crossed in the corner to score the first try of the match, only for the video replay to show that Rabbitoh player Chris Sandow had punched the ball out of Berrigan’s grasp moments before he had crossed the try line.

The bad luck for the home side’s scoring tries continued as Locke being disallowed a try from dummy-half and Mannering having his try disallowed as well when the video ref discovered that Inu had stepped on the sideline in the build up to the try.
